When to change a tyre
- Tread below 1.6mm across the central three-quarters, the legal minimum
- Cuts, bulges or cracks in the sidewall
- A puncture too large or too close to the edge to repair
- Uneven wear, which can also point to a suspension or alignment problem

Yes. Tell us your registration or tyre size and we will source tyres to fit and quote before ordering.
Often, yes. A puncture can be repaired when the damage is small and in the central part of the tread. Damage in the sidewall or shoulder cannot be safely repaired, so the tyre has to be replaced. We check and tell you which it is.
1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tread, all the way around the tyre. Many drivers change tyres before that, as grip in the wet drops as tread wears.
